An artist from Ferbane, Co. Offaly, Roisin Maher, holds a bachelors degree in fine art & design from GMIT, Galway, from where she graduated in 2015. There she specialised in ceramics, but after graduating from college, she decided to try her hand at acrylic painting, and so her love for creating art broadened.
One of the main aspects of her work is the wide range of colour and pattern used in each piece that she creates. A lot of her inspiration comes from her love of animals, creating quirky and playful images that spark joy in the eyes of the beholders. Each animal, with its own uniquely decorated background and expressive face, is sure to make anyone smile.
Roisin is also strongly inspired by the beauty of African culture and fashion. Painting imges of african women, with all the vibrant colours and details, is something she loves to exlore.
Roisin also takes commission for portraits of both animals and humans, bringing her own unique style to all.
